Weekly coffee - 12th bean

Sorry for the lack of the post but during the summer we were a little bit lazy to write the blog and we spent a little bit too much time with enjoying the summer. But now we are back and this morning the first autumn Moresby Coffee Weekly Bean took place in a Starbucks Café on Neal Street (near Covent Garden).

Weekly code

  • MByHave improvement
Container and ReturnValue parameter types have been added to MByHave.
Container supports a named cache what stores the containers in a map where the key is a name. A step can get a container as a parameter by the name. The parameter's name (as all other parameters') has to be in the step definition pattern when the step description is parsed, the proper Container will be picked up and passed to the step method.
The return value cache is a LIFO cache collecting the return values from the step methods. The parameters with ReturnValue type will be provided by the MByHave from the cache passing the last return value what matches to the generic type.
The details are coming soon in another blog post!
  • MByPass plans
MByPass will be a converter framework what automatically convert arbitrary type to an other arbitrary type if it's possible to do with the registered converters. The converters has a very simple interface: public interface Converter { T convert(F from) throws ConverterException; } MByPass will be able to automatically chain them and find the was between input and output types.

Weekly coffee - 8th bean

On Fridays we met in a Cafe at Canary Wharf and talked – as usually – about Java, programming and other interesting things of the IT world. This occasion was special because my wife, Barbi joined to our team - because she is a Mathematician and she was interested in the topics - , so we were three of us.
